Won Weight In 14ct Gold
BURBANK (California), July 3. Mrs Grace H. Tousley is glad that she is plump. She won her weight in gold on a television programme last night. “It’s worth being a bit plump for all this,’’ said Mrs Tousley as she took a cheque for 50,318 dollars on the show, “It Could Be you.’’ “But now I can afford to go on a diet.” she said.
Mrs Tousley is a sft 2in, 12st 11b grandmother from Independence, Missouri. She won the sum—what she would be worth in 14-carat gold—for writing a sentence on why she wanted a washer-dryer made by the sponsor.
