U.S. FIGHTER CRASHES
Children Killed In Street (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) ST. NICOLAS EN FORET (France), July 3 A United States Air Force F-100 jet fighter crashed into the main street of St. Nicolas en Foret, in eastern France, yesterday, killing two children on their way home from school, the American Asso ciated Press reported. They were Herve Bonnet, aged 3J and his 14-year-old sister. Edith. Considerable damage was done to the village. Ten persons were left homeless. The pilot, who parachuted and landed safely was First Lieutenant Clyde Young, of Kanab, Utah. The plane grazed a house seriously damaging it. Reports . said the aircraft, flying at a few thousand feet, developed engine trouble. Young baled out and United States officers immediately rushed to the scene.
An investigation has been ordered.
