Whetu Ratima, a former Hawke’s Bay winger, was ordered off the field during a club match between Aotea (Dannevirke) and Onga-Tiko (Central Hawke’s Bay) at Dannevirke on Saturday.
Ratima, No. 8 for the Aotea side, is the third player to be ordered off at Dannivirke so far this season. He was alleged to have tackled illegally and will appear before the local subunion management committee on Thursday night. Four senior Rugby players ordered off in matches at Gis borne on Saturday, were suspended for a week by the Poverty Bay Rugby Union. The offenders were: David Green, M. McFarlane and two brothers G. and T Kerekere.
Five more senior Rugby playerwere ordered off in Northland on Saturday. This brings the season’s total to more than 20 Four went to the sidelines because of rough play and fighting, and the fifth for arguing with a referee.
Four New Players For Otago

Four new representatives, L I. Bassett (wing). E. Edwards (first five-eighth), A. Stevens (half-back) and L. A. Clarke (No. B)—have been chosen in the Otago Rugby team to meet the touring Taranaki side at Carisbrook on Saturday. The team is: Full-back. J. N Darling; three-quarters. E. S Diack, D. A. Grant. 1 Bassett; five-eighths, C. Prain. E. Edwards; half-back, A. Stevens; baek row. L. A. Clarke; middle row. R Conway, G. Dennison. D. Johnston, W. D. Gillespie; front row, M Irwin, I. Stevens. J. Anderson. Reserves: O. Colloty, W. McAuley, L. Kovaleski, J. Cotton, A Barker.
