Losses In Carriage Of Vegetables

The Soviet Communist Party newspaper, “Pravda," said today that losses totalling £l2 million were incurred last year by the Russian co-operative organisation in the transit of vegetables. The newspaper said thousand.

The “Pravda" article coincided with the opening in Moscow today of the Fifth Congress of the Soviet Co-operative Movement. The party’s Central Committee last week decided to abolish compulsory deliveries of -agricultural produce by collective farmers to the State.
The newspaper Baid co-opera-tive societies in the Soviet Union had more than 34 million members, 315,000 retail shops and restaurants and 36,000 goods depets.
