Mr W. H. Freeman, S.M. To Retire
“The Press” Special Service WAIHI, June 22. Mr W. H. Freeman. S.M.. will retire on November 30. Mr Freeman, who was born in 1891, began work as a cadet in the Magistrate’s Court, Rotorua. Later he served at Auckland, Napier. Eltham, Stratford and Hawera. In 1922 he qualified as a solicitor and, in 1927, as a barrister. Eight years later he was appointed magistrate in charge of the Southland magisterial district. Since 1938 his district has been South Auckland. Mr Freeman has also served on several commissions, including the Gaming Commission in 1946.
