LATER CLEARANCE OF MAIL

Sockburn-Hornby Innovation

Later clearance of post boxes at certain points in the Hornby. Sockburn and Yaldhurst districts has been arranged through the representations of Mr M. A. Connelly, member of Parliament for Riccarton. At present the last clearance is at 3 p.m. and residents have to travel to the Upper Riccarton Post Office to lodge mail.

The Chief Postmaster (Mr R. Elcock) has advised Mr Connelly that it has now been found practicable to extend the 9 p.m. clearance to include the Sockburn and Hornby Pos J . Offices and also the post boxes at the corners of Avonhead and Yaldhurst roads and at the corner of Racecourse and Epsom roads.

These Inter clearances will be made every day except Saturday and the new arrangement will begin soon.

Mr Connelly said he knew many residents of the areas concerned would welcome the additional facility.
