New Dental Cream Developed A new dental cream which coats teeth with an oil instead of saliva, has been found in tests to give a 45 per cent, reduction in caries, according to the dental committee of the Medical Research Council. Some details of development work with the cream are given in the annual report of the council tabled recently in the House of Representatives. Modifications to the formula improved its taste and looks. The oreparation. “amine dental cream,” resulted in about 45 per cent, less caries in tested subjects than those who used an ordinary commercial dentifrice. An analysis of the results showed that this difference was highly significant. The cream contains a waterdisplacing oil, which has an affinity for the surface of teeth It replaces the saliva and prevents decay-causing agents reaching the tooth.
