STATIONMASTER TO RETIRE
40 Years’ Service In Department
Mr J. A. M. Reid, who has been stationmaster at Ashburton for about 18 months, will retire from the Railways Department after 40 years’ service on Wednesday. He will leave on Thursday for Oamaru, where he will make his new home. Mr Reid joined the department as a cadet at Dunedin in 1918 and served at Seacliffe. Oamaru. Kirwee, Sefton, Dargaville, Frankton. Rotorua, Timaru, Blackball Runanga, Christcnurch, Mosgiel. Springfield and Gore.
