MILK AT THE TAVERN
LONDON. Alchoholic. drinks needing milk are being sold at the Waggon and Horses. Oxenbope, a tiny tavern on the Yorkshire moors where, the landlord is a dairy farmer. It is said to be the'first tavern in Britain to . offer .its Drinks available Include rfitn and milk and whisky and milk, as .yell as more unusual drinks such as white velvet (milk with a dash of Mandy served with a powdering of nutmeg on the top), farmer’s nog (one egg, a teaspoonful of syrup, three-quarters of a gill of brandy, rum, whisky or gin, with the balance in milk —again with grated nutmeg on top); and squire's breakfast (One egg, half a gill of old brandy, with the balance in milk—well iced and served - with grated cinnamon). - V . —(UJC.
