He has 9-9, which is 31b more than he carried on Monday . Irisn Ace, the Great . Northern winner, will be hard to- beat, although he is up 121 b to 9-12. Royal Heritage, which escaped a penalty for third in the Northern, is again well placed with 9-0. Other notable candidates are Hit Parade, Jewel Denby and Conkeda The McGregor Grant Steeplechase will be the first leg of the T.A.B. double. The York Handicap will be the second leg. Otara has 9-4, which is 11b more than he carried to victory in the Members’ Handicap, seven furlongs, last Saturday, when the scale was higher. A change again to wet weather and heavy ground would help Otara’s chance and it would also assist Peter Willoynx and Robert Kay. Since last week-end the weather has been fine and the going has improved quickly. If the favourable spell continues the ground will be in excellent order for the galloping.
