Three Teams Seek Tours

The Canterbury Football Association has received advice that inquiries had been made of the New Zealand Association regarding a tour by the Notts Forest Football Club. It had been decided that in view of a possible tour by an English team in 1959 or 1960, no arrangements could be made with the club. Suggestions from the Australia association that tours be arranged for an Australian team en route to New Caledonia and a British Army team have been referred to the incoming council of the association. The Caversham Club (Dunedin) m a letter to the Canterbury association advised that it wished to arrange matches with a Christchurch club each Easter. Because of the few players available, the Burnham Club advised that it would be unable to field a team this year. To allow players to attend the hockey test, it was decided to play all matches except one. at 1.15 p.m. next Saturday.
