FOUR YEARS’ GOAL FOR WORKMAN
23 Offences Admitted At Auckland (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, .April 4. Four years’ imprisonment was imposed on Mannie Cassidy, aged 27, a workman, by Mr F. McCarthy, S.M., in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court yesterday when he appeared for sentence on 12 charges of breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime and one of assault. Cassidy admitted all the charges. When Cassidy was accosted by the watchman in the Royal New Zealand Naval Volunteer Reserve headquarters Cassidy had set about him with a torch and had beaten him up, said the Magistrate. If any further similar charges came up against him.
