Wage Increase Granted
Increases of between Id and ljd an hour on the minimum rates of wages for adult workers under the New Zealand Oil Companies’ Metal and Related Trades Work-
ers’ Award, have been granted of cleaner have received an increase of 4s 2d a week or Hd if employed by the hour.
The award, which came into force on April 1, will continue until March 31, 1960. It embodies the terms of settlement arrived at by the assessors in Conciliation Council,
by the Court of Arbitration in a new award.
Boys and youths employed under the award have been granted an increase of !d an hour. Rotational shift and afternoon and nightshift workers have been granted an extra 6d a shift, and workers who are substantially employed operating a certain type
