Assurance Given Survivors
CANBERRA, April 1. The Australian Immigration Department today gave an assurance that survivors from the Norwegian migrant liner, Skaubryn, gutted in the Indian Ocean today, would be well looked after. A spokesman said that at this stage it was not possible to be more specific. The Skaubryn, 9876 tons, bound for Australia with 1100 migrants fr„:n Germany, Malta, and Scandinavia, was due in Melbourne on April 18. About three-quarters of them were to go to the Bonegilla migrant centre on the VictorianNew South Wales border.
