BREWERY AT TIMARU
Plant To Continue In Operation
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, March 23. The Timaru brewery will be carrying on for some time, and no plans have been made to close it down. This assurance was given by Mr B. T. O’Connell, general manager of New Zealand Breweries, when asked whether, now that the firm had acquired Ballins brewery, the Timaru plant would be declared surplus to requirements. “We plan on having a good look at it,” said Mr O’Connell. “There are some old buildings, you know, and it may need modernisation, but you can be sure that it will be carrying on for some years yet.’’
