N.Z.’s CHAMPION ANGLER
4691 b Of Fish Caught In Competition

The winner, Mr A. A. Corban, of Auckland, caught 4691 b of fish —lO species—during the New Zealand Anglers’ Association’s first convention and natiobal fishing championships held at Whangaroa and Ninety Mile Beach last week.*
The runner-up was Mr F. C. Grant, of Wellsford, with 3021 b. Mrs R. Dinsdale, of Whananaki, near Whangarei, became the Dominion’s most successful woman angler, and Neil Dempster, of Whangarei, won the trophy for the most meritorious catch for a junior. More than two tons of fish were caught in Whangaroa by the 115 anglers who took part, while the 98 surf casters at Ninety Mile Beach landed just over half a ton in 24 hours.
