MIXED FARMS AUCTIONED
Southbridge Property Sold -Privately
A Southbridge mixed farm of 135 acres’l rood 16 perches was passed in at £10.665 at an auction in Christchurch recently. It was sold, privately at an undisclosed figure. The property, which included a modern five-rpomed bungalow and outbuildings, was offered on account of Mr W. D. Legg. Bidding began at £6O an acre rose to £75 with three £5 bids and closed after four bids of £1 at £79 an acre. There were 40 persons at the sale. Another mixed farm of 491 acres, four miles from Glentunnel township, was passed in at £10,802 at the same auction. The property, which contains a brick cottage of three bedrooms, new woolshed <350 sheep), hay shed (1200 bales), and implement shed, was offered on account of Mr P M. Buckland. Bidding began at £l5 an acre and closed at £22 an acre after seven £1 bids. The auction was attended by 20 persons.
