BROOD MARE SALE
>■ 475 Guineas For Belle Renarde There was only a fair, inquiry at the annual sale of . brood mares and racing stock held at the Addington showgrounds yesterday. The top price of 475gns was paid by Mr J. O’Sullivan, of Brisbane, for the useful race mare Belle Renarde, which had been served by Garrison Hanover. She was offered on behalf of Mrs G. M. Dick, , of Invercargill. Mr O’Sullivan also paid 285gns for the 17year-old mare, Spierette (Jack Potts-Tijuana), which was offered on behalf of Mr J. M. Connelly, of Geraldine. She had a filly foal at foot by Stormywqy and was served-again by the same r S. E ston, of Oamaru, paid 300gns for Rosiere (Dillon HallLuronne), which .was offered on behalf of Mesdames M. Cruickshank and G. M. Dick, of Invercargill. She was served by Meadow Chief. There was little inquiry for the other lots, and passings were frequent. The sale was conducted by H. Matson and Company, in conjunction with Wright, Stephenson and Company, Ltd.
