MINOR FIRES
A fire, caused by the piercing of electric cables by a nail which was being driven into the wall, slightly damaged the wall of a flat at 339 a Papanui road yesterday morning. One unit from the St. Albans fire station answered the call and firemen had to remove some of the outside wall to stop the fire. The owner of the flats is Mr A. G. Gamble. At 8.29 a.m. one unit from St. Albans answered a call to a house ■ftt 201 Blighs road, occupied by Mrs L. E. Radford. The fire was caused by an electric jug which had pot been switched off. Damage ,was confined to the jug.
