RICCARTON HIGH SCHOOL
First Annual Sports Meeting
Pupils and many parents took a wide interest in the Riccarton High School's first annual sports held at the school yesterday. The championships were very closely contested, with only points separating the first and second places in the boys’ championship. A. Smith won with 19 points, and R. Sutherland was second with 18 points. The girls’ championship was won by S. Vogel (20 points), with A. Bolting (16 points) second. The chairman of the school’s board of governors (Mr W. J. Cartwright) commented on the "good sportsmanship in the events.’’ Results were:— House Championship.—Red (96 points) 1, Blue (78) 2, Green (721) 3, Yellow (471) 4.
