Life-Saving N.Z. TITLE MEETING Canterbury Lost £80
The Canterbury Surf LiteSaving Association suffered a loss of about £BO on the national championships meeting held at South Brighton Last month The treasurer (Mr H. G. Goldsmith) reported to last night’s meeting of the association that the bad weather and collection difficulties were largely responsible for the deficit.
The chairman (Mr S. B. Mason > said he had heard nothing but commendatory remarks on the organisation of the meeting, it was unfortunate that the weather and sea conditions had marred an otherwise successful meeting The Taylor’s Mistake delegate (Mr K. Le Cren) reported that his club was travelling to Okain’s Bay on Sunday to give surf lifesaving and Holger-Neilsen resuscitation instruction to farmers The meeting discussed at length remits to the annua] meeting of the New Zealand association to be held in Wellington in July
