DAIRY FARM SOLD PRIVATELY “Greenfields” Brings £9000

The Brookside dairy farm, •Greenfields,” was passed in at £8625 at an auction in Christchurch recently. It was later sold privately for £9OOO. The property of 115 acres, with a five-roomed house and outbuildings, is divided into 12 paddocks. The farm is in permanent pasture, except for two paddocks of eight and nine acres respectively in garden pea stubble. Bidding began at £65 an acre and rose to £75 an acre with four £2 lOs bids.

A five«roomed cottage, on a 40 perch section,, at 105 Orbell street, Sydenham, was sold for £2550 at another auction. The section, which is near the railway, has a frontage of 76 links and a depth of 325 links.

Bidding began at £ 1500, rose to £2500 with eight bids of £lOO and four bids of £5O, and closed after two further bids of £25.

There were 50 persons at the auction.

Another property at 163 Huxley street, Waltham, was sold recently for £9OO. The property comprised of a square fourroomed house on a section of 34.75 perches.

Bidding began at £6OO and rose to £9OO with six bids of £5O each.

A four-roomed bungalow on a 25 perch section at 121 Tennyson street, Beckenham, was passed in at £2300 The property, which has concrete paths, high-pressure water, and sewer, was offered on account of the estate of Mr M. A. Pavitt

Bidding began at £2OOO and rose to £2300 with three £lOO bids.
