SOUTH ISLAND PUBLICITY
Duplication Denied
The suggestion that the proposal of the Canterbury Progress League was a threat of duplication of effort of the Travel and Holiday Association and the South Island Publicity Association, was made by Mr L. Christie, president of the Publicity Association, in a letter to the council of the leage. Mr Christie suggested that mutual discussions be held.
Mr P. B. Watts said his proposal did not suggest a committee in opposition to bodies already doing good work. The league should have discussions, but continue its proposal to set up a tourist committee.
The committee had not yet been convened, said Mr Watts, replying to the president (Mr H. E. Radley). Once the committee was set up. the discussions with the Publicity Association could take place.
. Creditors’ Meeting Adjourned.— A meeting of creditors of Daniel Robert Joyce, driver, of Harewood Transit Camp, who was adjudged bankrupt on March 7, 1958, was held yesterday and was adjourned sine die because there was no quorum.
