OPPOSITION CAUCUS Party Organisation Discussed

A set of recommendations on party organisation was approved by the Opposition caucus this afternoon. When the caucus rose, the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Holyoake) said the recommendations would be submitted to a meeting of the Dominion council of the National Party in Wellington on March 28.

Mr Holyoake said there had also been a full discussion on the present financial position of the country. June 5 had been set as the tentative date for the next meeting. Seventeen caucus committees had been appointed and. thpjr chairmen were as follows: Policy, Mr Holyoake; finance, Mr Housing, Mr Eyre; Trade and Marketing, Mr Watts; external affairs, Mr Algle; vfrotks and electricity, Mr Goosman; Agriculture and lands, Mr GiUespie; defence, Mr Eyre; health and social security, Mr Hanan; labour, Mr McAlpine; Maori affairs, Mr Sim; local government, Mr Smith; transport, Mr McAlpine; statutes revision, Mr Marshall; civil aviation, Mr Shand.
