INDIAN ARMS BUYING
Allegations By Pakistani CANBERRA, March 20. The Pakistan Government believed that India was piling up arms to attack Pakistan over the Kashmir dispute, the Pakistan High Commissioner, LieutenantGeneral Mohammed Yousuf, told a press conference here today.
He criticised the Western powers for not taking the Kashmir dispute seriously enough. He said the Indian Government had increased its defence allocation in this year’s budget to £300,000,000.
Recently the British Government had sold India 73 Canberra bombers, 300 Centurion tanks, and 173 Hunter fighters. “We don’t know why they are buying all these arms,” he said. “But we think they are for a shot at Pakistan.”
