The Prime Minister (Mr Nash) is expected to return from his South-east Asian and Indian tour on April 2. He will arrive at Auckland by air. Mr Nash will broadcast to the country on April 6 on the conference of the Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East. He is expected to make another broadcast address later on the S.E.A.T O. conference in Manila.— (F.O 0.R.) The former Minister of External Affairs (Mr T. L. Macdonald) and his wife will leave New Zealand next month for a world tour of six or seven months.

The resignation of Mr D. W. Bain from the secretaryship of the Canterbury Progress League was received last evening by the league’s council. Mr Bain said the scope of the league’s work had expanded and he was unable to carry on his other interests fully. Tributes to Bain's efficient work for the league was expressed by the council. Two executive members of the Christchurch branch of the United Nations Association, Messrs B Mason and C. Lewis, have been selected as delegates to attend the annual conference of the New Zealand association, to be held in Wellington on March 21 and 22.
