Books And Import Control
Sir,—l think it is most important that New Zealanders, because of their isolation, should have access to all the worth-while books being published abroad. I always regretted the impact *hat the credit squeeze had on the numbers cf books imported, while useless other commodities and articles were imported merely to satisfy the whims of a section of the community. Now that import control is a necessity, I hope at least our libraries will get their quota of books, so that the thinking and reading public may still mentally evolve—Yours, etc., BOOK-LOVER.
