Miss Margaret Brand, Canterbury representative on the executive committee of the Public Service Association, will attend the Working Women’s Conference to be held in Sydney on March 20 and 21. The conference has been called by the trade unions to discuss conditions of employment of women, including the matter of equal pay.
Mrs Owen Hancox presided at the March meeting of the Hornby [branch of the League of Mothers. Mrs I. Sands entertained with a vocal solo. The speaker was a I medical adviser of the Health Dei partment
| The annual meeting of the St. : Paul’s branch of the Mothers’ I Union was held recently after a short service in the church. Canon Cocks presided. A review of the year’s activities was given, when it was said that there was an increase in membership, and an evening branch had been formed. The following officers were elected:—enrolling member, Mrs H. M, Cocks; vice-president, Mrs Godfrey; secretary, Mrs Campbell; treasurer, Mrs Taylor; committee, Mesdames Cameron, Forsyth, Holdgate, Jackways, and Inwood; sick visitors. Mesdames Pain, Plows, and Stanbury.
