(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) WASHINGTON, March 18.
President Eisenhower expressed confidence today that the American people would “whip” the recession and get back “once more on the road to ever higher levels of prosperity.” He also pledged that his Administration would do everything needed, including the cutting oftaxes, if that “should prove desirable and necessary.”
President Eisenhower made these declarations in a /speech to a national conference of Republican women.
Earlier. Senator William Knowland (Republican, California) said it might well be two months before the Administration made a decision on cutting taxes. Last week it was expected that it might come in one month.
