Judgment By Default For £30,000
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, March 19. Judgment by default for £30,000 was entered in the Auckland Supreme Court today against* Eldon John Evelyn Napier, a company director, by Mr Justice Shorland. The plaintiff was Oliver Samuel Shale, a retired farmer. Mr I. J. Bramwell said he had told Napier that he did not wish to act, and advised Napier to get other counsel. Mr Bramwell sought and was granted leave to withdraw from the proceedings. He said that Napier was at present serving a three-year gaol sentence. For Shale, Mr B. H. Clark moved for judgment by default, with costs, and this was granted.
