MALT LOST IN FIRE

About 250 bushels of malt were lost in a Are in the malt kiln at the Dominion Compressed Yeast Company. Ltd., at the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Antigua street, at 6.50 p.m. yesterday. Although no accurate assessment of the loss could be made last evening, the manager of the company (Mr W. J. Brown) said that he did not think it would be very great.

The fire was quickly localised by the units from the central station and Sydenham which answered the call and apart from the loss of malt the damage was confined to the interior roofing of the kiln. One unit from the brigade stayed at the building until a late hour last evening as a precautionary measure. The building is fully insured' and the damage will not affect th. company’s production.
