Nehru Wishes To Visit N.Z.
NEW DELHI, March 18. The Indian Prime Minister (Mr Nehru) is keen to visit New Zealand. He said this at the civic reception to the New Zealand Prime Minister (Mr Nash) here tonight. He had been "pressed for time” in the past, but hoped he would have an opportunity to return Mr Nash’s visit, he said. • Mr Nehru praised New Zealand’s generosity in Colombo Plan gifts to India and also told thousands of listeners that the Dominion’s equality of races was unique in the world.
Footballers’ Golf Match.— Thanks mainly to a generous system of handicapping, New Zealand took the major prize in an international golf tournament against Japan at Tokyo today. The contestants were members of the Npw Zealand Rugby team and Japan Rugby Union officials Although first prize went to New Zealand, the “test” was an overwhelming victory for Japan.— Tokyo, March 18.
