City Council Membership
Sir,—Mr M. A. Connelly is opposing the appointment of Miss Webb to the Hospital Board, but why has he not resigned from the Christchurch City Council in view of the fact that he is no longer a resident of the city?— Yours, etc., . WONDERING. March 14. 1998.
[“When elected to the Christchurch City Council I was a ratepayer and resident of the city and I still hold those qualifications on the eKctors’ list in respect of property in the city,” said Mr Connelly when this letter was referred to him for comment. "I would like to inform ‘Wondering’ that there are a number of present councillors who are not residents of the city.”]
