MOA-BONE CAVE EXCAVATIONS

Volunteer Diggers Hear Address Junior volunteers and their parents from Redcliffs were present at a meeting of the Friends of the Museum last evening when Dr. Roger Duff gave an account of the recent excavations at Redcliffs in the moa-bone cave. The volunteers, who were all about 12, were thanked by the president (Mr G. C. C. Sandstone) for the part they played in the digging in January. Dr. Duff spoke of Mr S. Novell's exploration last winter, when he demonstrated that Sir Julius von Haast’s excavations in 1872 had left many artifacts still to be discovered.
