HEAVY TRACK AT WYNDHAM

(New Zealand Press Association) INVERCARGILL. March 16. Canterbury stables won five of the eight races on the second day of the Wyndham Trotting Club’s meeting. After overnight rain and some heavy rain and hail showers during the day the track was heavy at first, but improved late in the day. The successful double. Spreadeagle and Gay Polka, returned £22 19s for £l. The weather had a marked effect on the attendance and totalisator turnover. The attendance was well below that for the second day last year. On Saturday the totalisator handled £30,634, a drop of £11,665 on last year’s second day total of £42.299.
