Christchurch Wool Averages 47.81d
At the third main Christchurch wooi taie, held on February 12 and 14, the average price realised was 4*7.81d per lb, or 14.96 d per lb less than at the corresponding Sale df the 1956-57 seasoil. The weight of wool sold rose 1.26 m lb to 16.70 in lb t but the total realisation fell from £ 4.04 th in the third tnain sale of the 1956-57 Sfcaisott to £3.33in. The ChtiMtchtarch Woolbrokers* Association advises that a total Of 51,076 bales was sold oh the two days, at ail average priee Of £65 3s Id per bale, compared with last season's figure of 46,168 bales averaging £B5 13s 3d per bale. In the four sales in Christchurch so far this season, the total wbol sold has been 37.88 m lb, and the realisation £7.7flm, compared with last year’s figures of 85.48 m lb for £8 9inu The next Christchurch wool sale is on April 21*
