SETTING UP A NEW RECORD for the event, the Fendalton swimming team won the Wharenui Shield at the inter-club carnival last week. The Mayor of Riccarton (Mr E. J. Bradshaw) is shown presenting the shield to the captain of the winning team, Paul Schmidt. The other members of the team were Stephen Schmidt, Derek Staples, David Dadson, Stuart Dixon, and Peter Sturge.
