WATER HEATER CONTROL
Delay In Receiving Relays
Because of a delay in the final shipments of relays for the Municipal Electricity Department’s ripple control system for water heaters, the department has ended for a period the engagements with electrical contractors for the installation of the relays. So far, 34,741 relays have been installed. Reporting to the City Council, the engineer-manager of the department (Mr G. H. Battersby) said the 710-cycle channel for control of street lighting was used for the first time on February 19, controlling the street lighting at the St. Albans Park sub-station. Installation of further relays to control other sub-station supply for street lighting was in hand.
