LOWER GRADES

Ninth round games in the lower grades of the Canterbury Cricket Association s competitions were completed on Saturday. Results were as follows:

SECOND GRADE A Manst 222 (Stevenson 64: Reid four for 87 j and 257 for seven declared (Stuart 61, Noonan 46) beat Sydenham 198 (Guthrie four for 51) and 189 for seven on the first innings.

Riccarton 286 and 75 for six (Ryder four for 31) beat Boys’ High Senool 161 (Gordon four for 52) and 212 (Ryan 57, Hopkins 47; Gordon four for 47) on the first innings.

SECOND GRADE B o ? ld , Collegians 223 beat High School Old Boys 158 and 170 (Gibson five for 58) on the first innings. Lancaster Park 221 and 102 for five beat St. Albans 162 (Notley 51) on the first innings. West Christchurch-University 111 (Kerr 29; Adamson seven for 46) and for sev «n wickets declared (Neilson 27; T. Gillard two for 19) beat East Christchurch 120 (M. Gillard 38; Barnett five for 59, Payne three for 22) and 105 (Auld 27; White two for 6) by 28 runs.

SECOND GRADE C St. Andrew’s 210 (Miffs 64, Waters 52; Gibson four for 38, Shardlow five for 48) beat St. Albans 154 and 109 for four (Gibson 40) on the first innings.

St. Bede’s 137 and 64 (Barron six for 15) beat Papanui High School 74 and 80 (Higgs 43; Wilson four for 23, Cowan four for 30) outright. Boys High School 145 beat Xavier 144 (Flood four for 35) and 65 for four (Graham 42) on the first innings. Christ’s College 172 (Tipping 43; Bowden four for 46) and 62 for one beat Marist 121 (Hurley 55)’ and 109 (Sudgeon four for 12, Collins four for 18) by nine .wickets.

PRESIDENT’S GRADE Lancaster Park B 245 for two declared (Ellis 106, O’Malley 101 not out) beat Technical Old Boys 122 (Dennis four for 24) on the first innings. Marist 262 for eight declared (Morgan 83, Empson 65; Henderson four for 44) drew with St. Albans 132 for THIRD GRADE A High School Old Boys 200 (Creighton 56, Roberts 52 not out) beat Technical Old Boys 78 (Roberts six for 25) and 108 by an innings and 14 runs. Riccarton 220 (Albertson 56; Little five for 53) and 89 for seven declared (Fright four for 11) beat West-Uni-versity B 192 (Turner 59 not out, Little 42; Hastie five for 54) and 63 (Hastie four for 22) outright. Lancaster Path 155 and 196 for six (Davies 82 not out) beat Sydenham 191 and 154 for six declared (Free 52) by four wickets. St. Albans 131 and 89 for eight (Kingston 42) beat Old Collegians 105 and 110 (Kingston seven for 53) by two wickets. West-University A 236 and 73 for five (Cooper five for 31) beat East Christchurch 144 (Calderwood 65) on the first Innings. THIRD GRADE B Riccarton 192 for seven declared (Andrews 54 not out, Jones 46) drew with Lancaster Park 97 for eight. Sydenham 163 for nine declared (Higgins 50; Mitchell four for 21) drew with St. Albans-Teachers’ College 158 for eight '(Ogilvie 47). , - THIRD GRADE C Linwood High School 157 (Ludbrook five for 49) and 68 for three beat Christ’s, College 136 and 82 (Hanna four for 30) by seven wickets.

Christchurch Technical 170 and 102 (Dickens five for 20) beat Boys’ High' School B 91 and 43 (Aker six for 16) outright.

St. Bede’s 223 for five declared and 131 (Curtis six for 33, Maling four for 44) beat Christ’s College 155 (Mannix seven for 47) and 46 fot five on the first innings.

St. Andrew’s 171 and 109 (Logie 50) beat Boys’ High School A 112 (Bishop 43) and 96 for four (Westward four for 22) on the first innings.

FOURTH GRADE A St. Albans 152 for four declared (Bodie 65, Daniell 49) and 45 for four beat East Christchurch 54 on the first innings.

Lancaster Park A 109 for eight declared beat Lancaster Park B 58 and 39 for eight on the first innings. Boys’ High School 126 (Hill 47, Norm in 47; Reddington four for 5) beat High School Old Boys 26 and 112 (Aitken 87) on the first innings.

West-University 130 for five beat Technical Old Boys 80 (Cherry six for 11) and 29 for three on the first ihnings.

FOURTH GRADE West High School 126 (Arnold 46) beat St. Bede’s B 25 (Smith six for 4) and 20 for five on the first innings. Christ’s College B 168 (Graham 71; Price five for 42) drew with Christchurch Technical 124 for nine (Clarkson 42; Graham five for 28).

Christ’s College A 127 for three beat St. Andrew’s A 103 (Allan 55 not out) on the first innings. Linwood High School 109 (Molloy four for 54) and 42 for three declared beat St. Bede’s .A 52 and 66 for nine (Browne four for 16) on the first innings.

Xavier 129 (McHugh four for 4) beat Boys’ High School 54 and 48 for nine (McNamara five for 6, Green four for 3) on the first innings.
