£6050 FOR THREE SECTIONS
“Avonbank” Subdivision In Fendalton Three of the six sections in the “Avonbank” subdivision were sold for £6050 at an auction in Christchurch yesterday. The land, which is part of the well known “Avonbank” residential property in the Desmond street extension. Fendalton, will have underground wires for telephones and power. The sections were sold on account of the estate of Mr George Gould. Bidding began at £l7OO for all sections. Lot one, of 35 perches, was sold for £2OOO after two £lOO bids and two £5O bids. Lot four, a 45.2 perch section was sold for £2050 after three bids of £lOO and one of £5O; and lot nine, of 43.9 perches, was sold for £2OOO after two bids of £lOO and two of £5O. Three sections, of 51.2 perches, 45.2 perches and 39 perches, we're passed in for £l9OO, £lBOO, and £l9OO respectively. Bidding rose from £l7OO in £lOO bids but failed to reach the reserve price. There were 35 persons at the auction.
