1 Canterbury Branch Officers { Doubt that the general public * was even aware that such a body ] as the Life Underwriters’ Asso- 1 ciation of New Zealand existed, was expressed at the annual meeting of the Canterbury branch of the association yesterday. Mr John Jameson, the newlyelected president of the branch, t urged that every effort should be f made to inform the public of the ] high standards demanded of asso- 1 ciation members. • “I doubt if the public realises i that non-industrial life insurance , salesmen have their own association, yet alone what it stands for,” said Mr Jameson. “Yet it exists to safeguard the interests of the insuring public through a ; rigidly enforced code of ethics.” Officers elected were:—Presi- ' dent, Mr Jameson (Government Life); vice-president, Mr G. Liley (Norwich Union); secretary, Mr F. Mitchell (Government Life); 1 treasurer, Mr C. Baker (Domin- ’ ion Life); public relations officer, Mr A. H. Forrester (Government [ Life); luncheon steward, Mr John . : Jennings (National Mutual Life).
