Improvements At Kaiapohia Pa

The Canterbury regional committee of the National Historic Places Trust will meet the Kaiapohia Trust Board and three representatives of the trust on March 21 at the Kaiapohia pa site to consider the restoration of the site and the Ngai-Tahu memorial there. The committee has enlisted the co-operation of the board of trustees of the site.

T 1 -* next day the junior branch of the Canterbury Historical Association will go on a field trip to Onawe, Akaroa and Ohaoka Bay to study sites connected with Maori history and early European settlement. Senior pupils of 17 schools have been invited. Members of the trust will be the chairman, Mr C. M. Bowden, the secretary, Mr J. Pascoe, and Mr A. G. Bagnall. They will also go on the field trip.
