PROTECTION OF HOME
Christchurch Branch Meets
The committee of the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Society for the Protection of Home and Family, held its first meeting of the New Year recently. Captain M. Hart presided.
The federated societies will meet in Wellington on March 18 and 19 when Brigadier Jean Bennett will represent the society as a delegate. The constitution of the federation will be under discussion together with replies from Ministers to remits from the conference held in Christchurch last year.
Since the November meeting of the Christchurch branch, 226 visits have been made and 448 callers at the office were attended to. The finance committee discussed the question of a street appeal and a stall in Cathedral Square. Remits from the National Council of Women were discussed and support was given to many of these. It was with regret that the resignations of Mrs F. N. Taylor and Mrs G. Pettigrew were received.
