Operatic society officers
The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Christchurch Operatic Society! Patron, Sir Ernest Andrews? president. Mr R. M. Macfarlane M.P.; vice-presidents, 10 wert elected; committee, Messrs G. A. Bell, C. H. Cook. D. Lukies, M» Marshall, W. R. Binns. A. Whitworth, Mesdames J. Sutton and A. M. Smith; honorary solicitor, Mr E. P. Wills; honorary auditor Mr S. G. Annand; trustees. Messrt E. P. Wills.. W. S. Mac Gibbon, and W. R. Binns.
Leprosy Camps i^n.—The Ne< Zealand Lepers’ Trust Board has decided to allocate £2OOO to assist lener patients in the Cook Islands. This grant is in response t) the Government announcement, made last week bv the Minister of Island Territories (Mr Mathison) that a campaign would soon be backed bv the Government The trust will also assist in t£ e establishing of a hospital in t®4 group.
