(New Zealand Press Association) BDENHEIM, Feb. 17.
The ashes of the late Commander G. F. Bothamley, former Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives, were scattered underneath a tree he planted with his father some 65 years ago on a hillside overlooking Umuwheke Bay,' on the western side of Arapawa Island, Queen Charlotte Sound, yesterday. There was a representative gathering of relatives, friends, and Government and Naval officials, including the Minister of Defence (Mr Connolly), Commodore P. Phipps, second member of the Naval Board, Mr C. E. Bailey of the Degislative Department, and Mr H. S. Wells, private secretary to Mr Connolly. A burial service was held underneath the tree, a battered and scarred English elm, where a small memorial had been erected.
