BRASS BAND TITLES
Mr R. J. Estall A Judge

Mr R. J. Estall, of Christchurch, has been appointed as an assistantjudge for the national brass band championships which will open in Dunedin on March 7. Mr Estall replaces Mr R. W. Francis, of Wanganui, who is not available. Mr Estall had outstanding success for many years as conductor of the Woolston Brass Band. He is a life member of the New Zealand Bands’ Association and has judged at contests in New Zealand and Australia.
A grade bands will be competing for a new trophy this year. It has been presented by the Gray family of Wellington for the combination with most music points in the quickstep, hymn test and selection.
