MEREMERE STRIKE
Talks Again Today (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, February 17. After failure today, further efforts will be made tomorrow morning to persuade 50 striking riggers at Meremere to return to work. The Conciliation Commissioner (Mr C. L. Hunter) and union officials will travel to the steam power station project for talks with workers. The riggers, of the Labourers’ Union, are . striking over nonrecognition z by the management of a job delegate. Forty boilermakers are also on strike over special payments.
