The Very Rev. C. L. Mountford, Dean of Melanesia, who arrived in Christchurch yesterday morning, will be welcomed by the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. A. K. Warren) and supporters at the Melanesian Mission at a meeting to be held in St Mary’s Parish Hall, Merivale, tomorrow evening. During his short visit to Christchurch, Dean Mountford will be the guest of the Dean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. Martin Sullivan) and Mrs Sullivan, Armagh street Dean Mountford will return to Melanesia in March. Mr H. C. Walker, operations manager of the National Airways Corporation, has been appointed superintendent of technical development. He will take up the appointment on March . 17. Mr Walker will be responsible for technical investigations and assessment of new types of aircraft for the corporation’s services, and ancillary developments connected with this. The new operations manager will be Mr P. A. Matheson, formerly assistant to Mr Walker in this position. Messrs J. V. Brown, 1 M. Carrie, and B. J. Mackay, all of Christchurch, are included in the list of 31 Public Service engineering awards made by the Public Service Commission for 1958.
