The opening day of the Wanganui Jockey Club’s summer meeting was held on Saturday in fine weather on a fast track. - . \ The double,' Oracle in the Wanganui Cup and Sonella in the Flying Handicap, paid £195 12s 6d for £l. The totalisator on-course handled £68,734, compared with £65,825 10s on the corresponding day last year, an increase of £2908 10s.
