Conclusive Unlucky In Mile (N.Z Press Association—Copyright / (Rec. 9 p.m.) MELBOURNE, February 16. The New Zealand horse. Conclusive. appeared unlucky when he filled third place to the New Zea-land-bred The Webb in the one-mile Salisbury Welter at Caulfield yesterday. Solidly supported at 7/1, Conclusive was slow away and appeared cut of the race as the horses rounded the home turn. His jockey. N Powell, brought him through on the rails, and he finished brilliantly for third behind The Webb and Kev Mar. The Webb won by a length from Kev Mar. with Conclusive a length and a half back. The New Zealand horse. Lochie. well fancied at 9/2, ran a solid race to finish fifth. He was ridden by the New Zealand jockey. J. Didham. Results:— OAKLEIGH PLATE, Of £4OOO. Five furlongs and a half.
